a weekend rambing of sorts

Only Florence could get away with this. So Lady of Shallot, and ye guys know I love all that kind of malarkey. I really don't want to call this a maxi dress...as they are in the rather irritating excess at the moment, but this is how a maxi dress should be done...well perhaps, maybe not as sheer for regular everyday activities..
This French Connection skirt might not even be available still, I'm not sure, just saw it on the website and kind of fell in love with it a little. Sort of ridiculous, a bit loud, a bit flamboyant, but man, doesn't it make you smile...even just a little bit?!

I know Alexa is flippin' everywhere what with Glastonbury and stuff...and incidentally I read on The Guardian website how Alexa was not overly eager to be mucking it with the common folk and actually seeing some music while there - it goes without saying that I am less than impressed with such bullshittery..but that's another story. I only want to admire the pretty polka dot, slightly 60s' mini dress and the casual drapage of a denim shirt around the shoulders.

Little leather backpacks have been quietly popping up around the blogosphere (oh no! I didn't just say that..) for some time really. Like all good micro trends, it's not long before we are all pining for a bit of their indie coolness. But, whatever about you, this makes me want to pack up a few sandwiches, a camera and good book and head off somewhere all nice and outdoorsy.

i bet you'd also dig this fiery redhead with an AMAZING set of pipes. listen at 2:51. she's been compared to patsy cline.

brilliant lyricist as well:

He led you to this hiding place
His lightening threats spun silver tongues
The red bells beckon you to ride
A handprint on the driver's side
It looks a lot like engine oil and tastes like being poor and small
And Popsicles in the summer} this last line so evocative of summer.
